The Team
Jerome “Jerry” Henry, Jr., President
Jerry started his entrepreneurship at an early age. While in his teens, he collected and sold scrap metal to make extra money. Eventually, he built his modest business into Midwest Pipe & Steel, Inc., one of the area’s largest steel service centers. Through the years, Jerry has owned and has been involved with many other steel related and non-steel related businesses. He has also been very active in the Fort Wayne community.

Doug Ford, Vice President of Administration
A veteran of 28 years in the steel industry and a native of Ft. Wayne, Doug has been with Midwest Pipe since 1995. Doug is responsible for a few major accounts as well as handling the company’s human-resource needs. Married with one grown son, Doug appreciates that, for its size, Midwest Pipe still maintains a family atmosphere.

“I enjoy the way Midwest Pipe, specifically, and the industry in general is always changing and reinventing itself. Everyday presents new challenges.”

Jim Bonahoom, CFO
A native of Fort Wayne, Jim was introduced to the steel industry when he joined Midwest Pipe in 2003. With several years experience and an accounting degree from Indiana University, Jim is well qualified to oversee Midwest Pipe’s financial affairs.

“I like the ability to have significant influence on solving problems and making changes to improve our bottom line.”

Don “Tiny” Wright, Vice President of Sales
Don has been with Midwest Pipe for more than 20 years joining the company as a front-line-sales associate and working his way up to Vice President of the division. The father of two grown children, Don has played an important role in Midwest’s impressive sales growth over the years.

“Midwest Pipe & Steel has integrity and believes that the customer is the company’s greatest asset.”

Laura A. Smith, Vice President of Purchasing
Laura has worked in the steel distribution industry for more than 20 years, all of them with Midwest Pipe. Laura’s role overseeing the Purchasing Department has been instrumental in Midwest Pipe’s continued success throughout the past two decades.

“We all work together as a team to provide our customers the best service possible. The results are quality products, competitive pricing, and on-time delivery.”

Shelly Jackson, Outside Sales
After working in the steel industry for 14 years, Shelly joined Midwest Pipe in 2003. A native of nearby Huntington, IN, she is responsible for meeting with customers and working with them one-on-one.

“Midwest is a company that really cares about the customer and its employees: honest, dependable, reliable employees that work as a team to make sure our customers needs and concerns are handled as if they were family.”

Jan Bell, Inside Sales
Jan has been in the steel industry since 1995, most of them with Midwest Pipe. A Fort Wayne native, Jan has all the latest tele-communications equipment at her disposal to stay in constant contact with her customers.

“I like Midwest because it is a small company where everyone calls you by your first name.”

Debra Dobias, Sales Associate
Although Debra is a fairly recent addition to Midwest Pipe, she has nearly 30 years experience in the steel industry. Debra is dedicated to providing our customers with the quality products and excellent service they have come to expect.

“Midwest is big enough to carry the items our customers need but small enough to get the job done quickly and without “red tape.”

Dave Stouder, Vice President of Corporate Development
Dave recently joined Midwest Pipe and brings with him more than 20 years in the steel industry. A graduate of Indiana University, Dave oversees business development for the company.

“I am impressed with Midwest’s ability to quickly and efficiently respond to our customers’ needs and doing so with a personal touch.”
